Let's flashback to 1998, where a young Peyton Manning was beginning his career.Peyton was putting up VERY similar numbers and we now know what kind of player he has become.I am not saying Mark Sanchez is the next Peyton Manning, but I am saying that we owe it to Mark, Rex and the entire Jets organization to give him a chance.Benching him at this point in the season when there is NO CHANCE for the playoffs would be detrimental to his growth.Having Mark hold a clip board would not help him, and I'm happy to hear that Rex, in his presser last night, is sticking with the rookie. "I don't think he's going to get any better sitting on the sidelines," Ryan said, via the New York Daily News. "Unless you get on the field, you are not going to get any better." I was watching Twitter live during the game, and although I'm not surprised by the reaction, many fans wanted him benched in the game.All the "Monday Morning QB's" this morning still want him benched for the season. That there’s no fear of getting benched if he doesn’t say “uncle” is also a concern. I get the sense he knows what’s right, but with no fear of getting yanked, he’s continuing to do what he wants.
